This is a foundation level course for physiotherapists working within paediatrics who want improve their knowledge, clinical reasoning and interventions with children and young people affected by Neurodisability.
The course is primarily aimed at band 5 and band 6, but all levels of expertise welcome.

Learning Outcomes
Have an understanding of the aetiology and presentations of common paediatric neurodisabling conditions referred to physiotherapists.
Consider the variations in physical, cognitive and perceptual development experienced by children with neurodisabilities.
Understand the context for paediatric physiotherapy assessment and management of children with neurodisabilities using the International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health (ICF) as a framework.
Have increased knowledge of assessment methods used in paediatric neurodisability.
Be able to develop meaningful child and family-centred goals and associated physiotherapy treatment plans.
Have gained a theoretical understanding of interventions commonly used by physiotherapists working in paediatric neurodisability.
Have increased awareness of evidence-informed practice in paediatric neurodisability.
Consider a life-course approach to management of neurodisability and an awareness of key transition points for children and young people with neurodisabilities.
The course programme consists of a variety of learning methods including seminars, group work, case studies and online activities. If you have a smartphone or any other portable internet-connecting device, e.g. tablet, laptop then please bring this to the sessions.
