Learning objectives:
- To be able to recognise a congenital muscular dystrophy patient
- To understand major difficulties affecting function and mobility
- To be able to manage the progressive nature of contractures and deformities and understand the limitations of physiotherapy.
Learning Outcomes:
- To be able to use basic assessment methods to identify the amin issues for each individual child.
- To understand the problems of fibrosis and contractures development and how to manage them.
- To understand the limited role of surgery and when it should be avoided.
- To formulate appropriated but manageable and fun programmes to treat this cohort.
