Neonatal staff and parent education

With increasing demands on clinical time and resource there is a need to think in novel ways about effective use of AHP time and  maintaining staff education and training. The “bite size” teaching programme was developed as a Team to support this challenge and skill up a range of staff to deliver vital information in a flexible format. We will share the structure and content of this model of staff training and consider its application in a range of settings.

Last year we presented the plans for our Integrated Family Delivered Neonatal Care Project; over the past year as a MDT we have developed a number of education resources to support the parent curriculum including an interactive App and chapters covering essential components of neonatal care, these will be presented along with an update on the project.
