Dr Charlie Fairhurst
Charlie is (for his sins) head of Paediatric Neurosciences at the architecturally renowned Evelina London Children’s Hospital, just over the river from the Houses of Parliament.
There he sees young people with all types of movement disorders. He has a special interest in assessing and helping children, young people and their families cope with the impact of severe neurological disability. He is proud to work in a number of highly committed specialist multidisciplinary teams that focus on different aspects of care and comfort.
He has been the UK representative on numerous international working parties, sits on the executive boards of the British Academy of Childhood Disability and the British Paediatric Neurology Association.
He was chair of the NICE Cerebral Palsy guidelines for children and young people and is now a Clinical Advisor to NICE.
As he was so bored between 11pm and midnight he also became chair of the Paediatric Neurosciences Clinical Reference Group at NHS England, but please don’t blame him.
