The CPIP-London region covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Greater London, Middlesex and Oxfordshire.

The London Region still does not have a live database but we are working hard both at tertiary and community level to get this in place. There is a dynamic steering group group that meets every few months to keep communication flowing and support each other. This group consists of representatives of most of the boroughs in North London and includes physios, pediatricians and radiologists. There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes to develop an agreement with the Information Governance teams which seems to be the main sticking point at the moment.

Many centres have implemented regular CPIP assessments and have developed in-house databases.

The CPIP National Committee has redrafted the CPIP trainer and trainee competencies and training packages.  Applications to be a CPIP trainer can be can now be sent directly to your regional rep. (cristina.rafter@gosh.nhs.uk). There is a good network of trainers available. If you are unsure who can support you in your area please contact your regional rep.

The CPIP website is also available as a useful resource for medical professionals and children/young people with CP and their families. Please take a look at www.cpipuk.org.
