APCP publications in different languages

APCP have many parent/carer publications available for download from our website

Due to the many enquiries for our parent/carer leaflets, we have decided to create a Language Translation Steering Group, dedicated to addressing the many barriers affecting ethnic minority groups whose first language isn't English.  This has therefore led us to put forward a proposal to the CSP for Professional Network Funding for language translation.

We are delighted to announce that late 2023, APCP was awarded funds by the CSP to commence this project and to bring together and to deliver, inclusive information to children and families across the UK and beyond, which in turn will provide:

1. A better understanding of their child's condition.

2. Engage in shared decision-making.

3. An increase with inclusivity of service user information for non-English reading and speaking families and service providers.

4. Improve health literacy and reduce health inequalities in UK children and families.

5. Long-term, we would like to disseminate our translated resources globally, reaching families and service providers in LMICs via our APCP Global Champions.

We are currently in the process of reaching a decision on which languages and which leaflets are of immediate interest and need; once we have had full cooperation, we will then reach out to the translation organisations for support.

We will also announce when these leaflets will be available and where you can access them.

If you have any further queries or questions, please reach out to ally@apcp.org.uk
