APCP Northern Ireland Region looking for members to join our regional committee ...
The APCP Northern Ireland Region is one of the smallest of the APCP Regions with just 86 members in 2020 with members based in all 5 of the Health and Social Care Trusts and private practice.
For several years we have struggled to maintain numbers on the Regional Committee. Lauren Kwant has now stepped down from the Regional Committee and we wish Lauren well and thank her for her dedication and support over the past few years. We are very pleased though to welcome a new member, Michelle Stowell, to the committee.
Michelle trained and worked in South Africa before moving to Northern Ireland in 2018. She current works for the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust based at Glenveagh Special School.
The current committee currently consists of 6 members representing four of the five Health and Social Care Trusts and Queen's University, Belfast.
We are currently seeking new members to join the committee. In particular we would be keen to get representation from the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. In addition, the committee ideally needs representation from a broad range of clinical occupational backgrounds and we would really benefit from having representation from the private sector, and from neuromuscular services. It is also really valuable to have representation for newly qualified therapists, students and therapy assistants ... and so don't feel you are not adequately qualified or have the necessary level of experience to get involved!
All members of APCP in Northern Ireland are eligible to nominate themselves for election to the Regional Committee This is an opportunity for APCP members to help influence the work and activities of APCP in Northern Ireland and offers you an excellent opportunity to expand your networks and to represent the views of your colleagues.
