APCP East Anglia Region Evening Webinar - Current Approaches to the Orthopaedic Management of the Orthopaedic Hip

Current Approaches to the Orthopaedic Management of the Neurological Hip

The APCP East Anglia Regions hosted it's first webinar on Wednesday, 3rd February 2021.

Current Approaches to the Orthopaedic Management of the Neurological Hip was presented by Paediatric Orthopaedic Consultant, Pranai Buddhdev.  Pranai has worked in a range of acute settings both within the UK and abroad, and is now based between Addenbrooke's Hospital (Cambridge) and Mid-Essex Hospitals NHS Trust specialising in paediatric hip surgery.

Pranai shared his extensive knowledge in an engaging and energetic presentation discussing topics including anatomy, the indications for surgery and research into current and new  orthopaedic techniques (including femoral osteotomy, femoral resection and guided growth).

Pranai also briefly discussed  the role of the Cerebral Palsy Integrated Pathway (CPIP) in hip surveillance, assisting with timely surgical interventions.

Attendee engagement with the topic was evident from extended Q&A session at then end of the webinar, which unfortunately had to be ended before all questions had been fully answered.

The webinar was attended by 247 attendees with 100% positive feedback for an 'interesting and inspiring lecture'.  One delegate wrote that she ‘really enjoyed the presentation and felt it was all explained in a way that made sense to a physiotherapist new to the paediatric world’.

Pranai Buddhdev also hosts Paedipods - anonline platform for the orthopaedic community with a focus on paediatric orthopaedic practice and the current COVID19 Pandemic.
