This is a 12 month online programme from the 30th Sept 2024 (delegates can join this programme at any time during this period) up to 30th Sept 2025. The ITPP programme is equivalent to 3 x full days of F2F learning.

9 x Modules, with pre-recorded audio PowerPoint presentations, to access. Each module of the ITPP course will also have a workbook of questions following each presentation to complete and return, where we will mark. Once all modules and workbooks (up to 10 x questions in each) are complete, APCP will provide you with your certification of the ITPP Programme 2024/2025. The programme is security protected and only those registered will have access to the modules. Modules are open for learning however; downloads are not permitted or transferable. Only workbooks are accessible to download and complete.

3 x webinars (LIVE). With APCP specialist committee members with examples of case studies and Q&A. However, these webinars will be recorded at the time and then uploaded into your secured access learning folder to view at your convenience.

Learning outcomes:

  • To gain an in-depth understanding of the context within which a paediatric physiotherapist practices - this will include communication with children, young people and their families, partnership working, consent and legal issues.
  • To gain an understanding of the impact of diagnosis (to include differential diagnosis), adjustment and prognosis on child, family and therapist.
  • Critically analyse components of normal childhood development, which relate particularly to paediatric physiotherapy practice - this will include growth and musculoskeletal development, respiratory development, and normal variants.
  • To gain basic knowledge of appropriate paediatric assessment methods.
  • To gain basic knowledge of physiotherapy interventions available for a child’s age and condition.
