Heather Angilley qualified in 1977 as a remedial gymnast. She has worked in paediatrics from the outset, beginning her career in the East End and continuing in that area of London until her husband’s job in the Department of Health moved to Yorkshire in 1992.
She has experience in acute and community paediatrics, latterly specialising in Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). In 2014 she retired from the NHS and has since been able to concentrate on sharing her skills overseas, something which had begun in 1999 with her first overseas trip to China.
She has been to North Korea, South Africa, Mozambique, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Sri Lanka and India.
Heather will share some of her experiences and how it’s possible to contribute to improving the care of disabled children overseas.
