We do hope you are all well and managing to juggle the many changes that we are all experiencing at work and home. It is a challenging time and as paediatric physios we are needing to be even more resourceful and creative than usual as many will be communicating virtually with CYP whilst others may have had a complete change of role perhaps returning to adult services.
You may have been wondering about the plans for our national conference in October ...
The APCP Execs and Conference Committee have been in discussions over the last two weeks and have taken the difficult decision to postpone our annual conference.
We didn't want to just push it back a few months and then have to maybe postpone it again, as we think social distancing may be here for some time yet and may prevent us running large events like this one. We're also aware many physios have had all leave cancelled which will cause a backlog when restrictions lift as well as the potential impact when the current crisis lessens of long waiting lists. We also know that most research has stopped and have had no submissions for abstracts as yet.
We wanted to be proactive rather than reactive with our first ever international event and hopefully our international colleagues will also be better placed to attend as we're not sure currently when flight schedules will resume.
The new date will be 8-9 October 2021 at the same venue.
Thank you for your patience, bookings had remained open and we will be offering those few who have purchased tickets a refund in the next couple of days.
We hope to have a full house in London next year!
