The APCP Northern Ireland Region invite you to a morning lecture with Marie O'Mir
- Marie Ó Mír is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Paediatric Orthopaedics working in an Advanced Practice role at the Children’s Hospital Ireland (CHI), Crumlin, Dublin. She established the first National Paediatric Orthopaedic Triage service in OLCHC for which she received a National Healthcare commendation in 2012 for ‘Outpatient Innovation of the Year’ and was shortlisted for HSCP Best Practice and Innovation Award in 2018. She has been a member of the Ponseti team in CHI Crumlin for 8 years.
- Marie’s research interests are advancing the scope of physiotherapy practice, paediatric orthopaedic triage and Ponseti. She recently completed her PhD in UCD evaluating ‘The Efficacy of Advanced Practice Physiotherapists in Paediatric Orthopaedic Triage’. She regularly lectures on paediatric orthopaedics at courses and also as part of the undergraduate physiotherapy courses in TCD and UCD.
- Marie has presented her research data on Ponseti Outcomes and Efficacy of Physiotherapy Triage both nationally and internationally including the IOA, APCP, ISCP and the 3rd International Clubfoot Symposium in Barcelona 2014, and has won several awards for best poster and best research presentations. She delivered presentations at the World Congress of Physical Therapists in Singapore 2015, in Cape Town in July 2017 and in Geneva in 2019.She has published her work on Advanced Practice Physiotherapy both nationally and internationally.
