  • Provide an overview of ITB and DBS surgery and discuss the mechanisms of action
  • Discuss the pathway through the service at Evelina Children’s Hospital
  • Help clinicians identify children and young people who may be appropriate for a referral to the DBS/ITB service including differentiating between spasticity and dystonia
  • Illustrate with case examples and video the types of children that may benefit from DBS/ITB, including pre and post-surgical outcomes
  • Discuss goal setting for surgery
  • Describe the most commonly used assessments in this patient group
  • Discuss the classification of different types of dystonia
