The APCP Neuromuscular Committee aim to run an annual study day for paediatrics physiotherapists working with children and young people with neuromuscular conditions.
In 2017, Raising Standards of Care for Physiotherapy Management in Neuromuscular Disease provide an interactive day with lecture presentations and practical training on assessment and physiotherapy management for children with neuromuscular disease.
This year, Neuromuscular Committee have invited speakers to present at the APCP Annual Conference in November - full details can be found on the Annual Conference pages.
Physiotherapy Managment in Neuromuscular Disease
Muscular Dystrophy UK has come together with the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education, at Kingston University & St George’s University of London, and the MRC Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases, UCLH to develop a new online eLearning module on neuromuscular conditions for physiotherapists.
The purpose of the module is to provide helpful information for community or neuro-physiotherapists to build a foundation of knowledge and skills around the management of muscle-wasting conditions in adults. Some paediatric therapists may find this relevant for older adolesscents. Read more ...
