The SE region covers a number of NHS Trusts including Kent Community Health Care Foundation Trust, Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, Medway Community Healthcare, Bromley Healthcare, Central Surrey Health, Surrey and Boarders NHS trust, First Community Health and Care, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. The main tertiary centre being Evelina Children’s Hospital-London which is part of CPIPSE.
Despite this, there is a strong regional group with good representation and coverage of the geographical area and disciplines (including Physios, Orthopaedic Consultants and Paediatricians). Our regional steering group continues to meet twice a year a for discussion on implementation of CPIP.
The CPIP Patient Management System has been funded by the Evelina Children’s Hospital Charity until January 2021.The SE needs ongoing financial sustainability of the system.
With regards to CPIP assessments, physio teams across the region are trained and are completing the assessments/using the data to inform clinical decisions with local spreadsheets/databases being established. All therapists are finding the patient management system helpful and are excited at being able to see the results traffic lighted. Therapists are also enthusiastic about performing the CPIP assessment on children and are keen to develop the CPIP clinics across the region.
Within the SE region, the physiotherapists are measuring hip migration percentages and have recently undergone annual competencies for x rays. This practice is supported by the Orthopaedic Surgeons at The Evelina Hospital who happily accept responsibility. An x ray code has been issued to physiotherapists for ordering hip surveillance x rays in the region. The development of an online competency is being discussed.

We are now are establishing a list of all of the trainers in the region and are considering how training can be managed within the region and await direction from CPIPNN.
The South East continues to be ‘Live’ on the Patient Management System with 1327 Children and Young People registered.
